Carolina Pareja

Carolina “Carol” Pareja, age 46, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 at Advocate Christ Medical Center. She was born on January 4, 1978 in Quito, Ecuador to Martha Guerra and Jorge Pareja.

She was a nurturing Mother to Desiree (Jeremy Smith), Jacqueline, and Christian Nevarez and loving Grandmother to Ziyah Smith; beloved Sister to Giovanny Pareja, Jesse (Laura) Pareja and Michelle Pareja (Brian Chambers). 

Carol worked in accounting over several years and loved exploring downtown Chicago. As a true Chicagoan, she often supported her favorite sports teams – the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears. Carol is known for her incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican style of cooking, baking, painting and crafting, yet her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family and bringing people together. She touched many hearts with her strength, compassion and love for her family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday September 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Sagrada Familia Funeral Home, 4950 West 79th Street, Burbank IL 60459. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10am at Sagrada Familia Funeral Home, with the funeral procession starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at St Mary Catholic Cemetery, 3801 West 87th Street Evergreen Park IL 60805.
